I've been trying to source brass rod stock in the correct 1/72 scale diameter for my basement layout - we're talking 0.045 inches, not approximate, actually precise - and every hobby shop in a 20-mile radius either doesn't carry it anymore or acts like I'm asking for something completely unreasonable.
